Today we went to the beach. It was just like any other day except there was a nice lady with a camera who gave me a lot of salmon cookies and pets.

I am so happy to be at the beach today I almost forget how much pain is in my body. When I see you sad, it makes me remember.

I don't like to make you sad so I will pretend to be strong today.

Today I got to visit the woods and shake your hand for salmon cookies. You didn't care that my paw was cold, wet, and sandy.

Today we explored my favorite cave at the beach. It made you laugh when I walked into the tiny waterfall and shook myself in it.

Today we went for a walk on the sand beside the river and I got to wade in the water. You knelt down and gave me more salmon cookies.

Today it felt good to be with you. Especially in the light. It feels like the light is surrounding me and I'm just melting into it.

I like that feeling.

I'm trying to live through this pain for you but this incredible light is calling me. It's calling me home.

Can you hear it calling me?

I may not be with you tomorrow but if you look hard enough, you will always see my paw prints right where they belong.
